Home. I'm coming home. Home is whenever I'm with you and you and you too.
My heart
took a plane home and spent 10 days with my family and friends.
This is what
happened.
Picked up
my niece from school and helped her doing her homework. My other niece became 4
and is the one of the coolest kids I’ve met. My 6 month nephew is adorable and
loves biting (vampire!).
Spent lazy
afternoons in cafés outside reading, having ice-tea, or chatting to one of my
best friends. Had lots of proseco with my sister and my sister-in-law. Ate a
lot. A lot.
Watched lots
of trash TV, the Kardashians, say yes to the (sometimes awful) dress and the
bridesmaids too, the hoarders whose houses make me panic (I’m so happy I’m almost OCD when it comes to
sorting – organizing – garbage), the scouted models (has any ever been signed
with?), and more and more.
Had dinner
with the twins, who I haven’t been with in more than 5 years (though I did have
brief coffee with of them back in October). Spent a day on the beach and my
face became a huge freckle. Had breakfast and brunch and dessert in some new
places near Sintra.
Got shocked with the prices at Pensão do Amor. Saw Simão,
Francisca and got the saddest news about Ranubi, the most adorable cat ever…
Had lots of pão de deus at Padaria Portuguesa. Went shopping. Bought a bag and 4
pair of shoes. Went to Liberty’s (American supermarket) and couldn’t stop
talking about the 1kg pack of garlic croutons. Took a plane back to a sunny Brussels
and spent 47 EUR on a taxi.
My camera
stopped working on the 2nd day. No pictures.

Do you speak vintage?
Though I like going to vintage markets I always end up not getting anything... somehow I still find it a bit weird getting 2nd hand clothes (but I do like hand me downs from friends!). Maybe I'm just too snob? Hm.
These are some of the pictures my friend Francesca and I took when we went to the last vintage market held in Brussels - I was hoping to spend a rainy afternoon there but not even the expensive cupcakes were inviting.
Brussels does not know the real meaning of Summer, so why keep a fan when all you need is Winter coats, a wool scarf and nice gloves?
Barbie and Ken STAR TREK. My inner geek would have got it if it had been Barbie Star Wars. Or Yoda.
Why I would want this I don't know but I wish I had bought the golden one.

Musée d'Ixelles :: Museum van Elsene
I live in Ixelles, which is a comune of Brussels. Two weeks ago I got an invitation on the post to come to the museum of my district for a glass of wine with our local governants. There were lots of people there and we ended up chatting with our downstairs neighbours, who are also "new residents". I wasn't very happy with the wine, but I was surprisingly impressed by the quality of the permanent collection, and the exhibition which is currenly on - a retrospective of the belle époque of Jules Chéret.
If you happen to be in Brussels you shouldn't miss it - unfortunately it's only on until next Sunday, 20th.
I want these two posters in my living room, please.
Or these lovely ballerinas. So pretty, pretty, pretty.
This is the sketch / study. Amazingly beautiful.
And then lots of posters featuring a circus theme.
I don't like circus, I don't. But I liked these posters a lot, and I wish my friend Sara had visited me so she could see the great lot of circus themed posters available.
And then, Moulin Rouge! (and again, the urge to go back to Paris)

I just want to be a housewife
My Sunday chores in no particular order:
- get apples and bake a cake
- get all your shirts and iron them all in less than one hour
- watch Desperate Housewives and try not to kill anyone
- go to the nearest Irish pub and watch Manchester City winning the Premier League
- realize your understanding of football is close to none
- go around the ponds and have ice-cream

rainy saturday
penguins penguins penguins of my heart
I like and want both on the right side.
My chewing gum shoes!
But I still prefer more classical stuff.
Urban Outfitters - so overrated, and so expensive. But hey, Vivienne Westwood represent!
I'm not a religious person but I like churches.
Finally at home.

Happy Endings marathon now.
